Tradition and art are allied with the CEIP Port de Xàbia in Cuinnovart

03 December 2021 - 08: 14

The new educational project CEIP Port of Xàbia, cuinnovart, take one more step in this first course. Tape Art València (TAV), Larouch and the Blat de la Marina, a project of the Riurau Sociocultural Association, are the three groups that sign alliances with the educational center to bring culture to students.

With the new agreements, Cuinnovart, begins to take shape. Gastronomy and urban art will be the protagonists after the Christmas holidays. Urban art will enter the classrooms through the English subject. On the one hand, students will learn the artistic techniques of the graffiti with stencils and on the other, that of the new art with which geometric figures are created as a result of colored ribbons.

As explained by the artists and teaching staff themselves, the creations will be embodied in the center itself. The artistic intervention of graffiti will be carried out in the mural of the schoolyard and that of Tape Art in the interior of the dining room. The elements related to the culinary sector will be those that represent these works of art made by the students.

But in this phase of Cuinnovart, the learning goes a step further. Within the gastronomic aspect, the project will focus on the origin of the products. The director of the CEIP Port of Xàbia, Isabel Moreno, outlined: "What is behind making bread? Children will learn the entire process involved in this preparation through the Blat de la Marina project." And this is the main idea of Cuinnovart, to know the essence of each food: how it is created, how it is worked, how it is collected and how that food reaches us.

The boys and girls of the CEIP Port de Xàbia will visit the fields of the Marina Alta where wheat and its varieties are grown, and there they will learn about everything that surrounds the world of agriculture and the process that this cereal goes through to become our daily food. The students will also visit a mill to observe how the wheat grain turns into flour, but first they will learn about its cultivation, harvest, and of course, all its consumption options.

Without a doubt, Cuinnovart is an enriching option to attract traditions to the classroom. From the school itself they are very happy and grateful to be able to count on the collaboration of different individuals and groups to carry out this exciting project.
