The Office of Attention to the Citizen of Xàbia attends about 300 queries a day

La Office of Citizen (OAC) is another of the pillars of administrative work with which the Javea Town Hall It is responding to the economic crisis that is beginning to be revealed by the COVID-19 health emergency.

The staff is teleworking and managing citizen care from home, although every day one of the workers goes to the physical office to take care of tasks that cannot be outsourced and keep the population register up to date. This task is carried out behind closed doors, since by prevention of the expansion of the coronavirus, there is no direct attention with the citizen, but via telephone.

As the responsible councilor explains, Ximo SegarraAt the service level, the bulk is done by telephone. Every day between 250 and 300 calls are received, most of them asking about the financial aid offered by the social services of the City Council or on the deadlines for fees and taxes. There is also interest in burning permits, the eco-park, documentation to register or doubts about issues regulated by the State of Alarm (removals, displacements to second homes...).

Another function of this department is to register the entries received through electronic administration, electronic mail, ordinary or certified or the citizen folder. Both electronically and via email, the most demanded service is the issuance of registration certificates or flyers, as they are required for the various mortgage grants or moratoriums.

Internally, work is also being done to provide documents also related to the census to the emergency aid files processed by Social Services (at least about 40 daily).

The alderman has wanted to value both the workers of the OAC and those of the Economic Area, a department that is also their responsibility, the effort they are making to maintain citizen attention and today important issues such as payment to suppliers, in these such difficult circumstances and with the means they have at home. Segarra thanked the staff for their involvement in responding to this extraordinary situation.
