A large number of women interested in joining the textile cooperative attended the talks on cooperatives and self-employment held in l 'espai Abiar El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
The conferences organized by the Department of Servicios Sociales to stimulate cooperative awareness aroused great interest among the neighbors and residents of the municipality.
The first conference, entitled "Amazon, a global challenge"It was imparted by Ignacio Oliete, conservation program coordinator of the Amazon Manaus Victoria Foundation. Oliete, he talked about his experience driving the cooperative movement in Manaus.
Then the technician responsible for the project Biomoscatel, José Manuel Bisseto, told the cooperative farmers experience BioMoscatell project with the talk "Cooperativisme to voltant the BioMoscatell".
Finally, the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Jacinta Pastor, spoke about the project "Textile Cooperative Dones". Its intention is to promote the creation of a textile cooperative of women at risk of social exclusion of different groups in the municipality.
Pastor said that "We wanted the project to be of them from the beginning. With this premise, several meetings were organized with all groups of women from the common illusion that flowed to learn dressmaking techniques to create a textile cooperative". The mayor added, "I look forward and I think this project will transcend and become an example to follow in other municipalities in the region".
The first step of this future partnership will be organizing and holding a free training workshops for all women involved. The medium-term plan is that the cooperative to acquire the strength and independence necessary for self-sufficiency and self-financing.
