At the foot of Montgó, on the road to Cap de Sant Antoni where there are several residential complexes of chalets, one stands out above all the others at sunset. The house with the most impressive and striking amount of Christmas lights in the area.
The house belongs to José Marcos Gil, a native of Xàbia, and Celeste Solares, from the Philippines. For a few years, José Marcos has been fond of making a great display of Christmas decorations capable of dazzling anyone. He started long ago with the assembly of the traditional nativity scene in his garage, although the tradition this year has gone much further.
After donating the material of the nativity scene, two years ago, the family decided to decorate the entire house in a big way, although they have reached the maximum spectacularity this year. The initiative was the idea of José Marcos, who decided to pay tribute to Celeste's roots, since in the Philippines it is very traditional to make decorations as impressive as this one.
Together with his son, Alejandro Gil, and from the end of October until relatively recently, every afternoon, when free time allowed, they have been decorating the exterior of the house. They have taken about a month to do this and have used about 20.000 light bulbs for it.
Although the house is not officially open to the public, the family does not hesitate to welcome the curious who come to observe its great work. Word of mouth, above all, has made them visit various groups of people last weekend, both from the Xàbia area and from Gandia or València.
It seems fatal to me that Chulvi is not sucking the camera.
