The Civil Guard of Jávea celebrates the Festival of its patron saint, the Virgen del Pilar

The Civil Guard of Jávea has celebrated today, October 12, the solemn act for the Feast of Our Lady the Virgin of Pilar, Patron Saint of the Civil Guard. A special act since last year this festivity could not be celebrated as usual due to the situation of the pandemic. On this occasion, the act took place in front of the Meritorious barracks, on the sports court of the CEIP Port of Xàbia.

In the first place, after the arrival and reception of authorities, the mass officiated by the parish priests Don Francisco Murillo and Don Salvador Torrent took place.

The event continued with the delivery of the medal of merit to agent Cristóbal Soto and the floral offering, along with the firing of the salutes in memory of the officers who died in the act of duty.

This celebration was attended by the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard, Javier Soliveres, the mayors of Xàbia and El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, José Chulvi and Miguel Ángel García, Chief Intendant of the Local Police of Xàbia, José Antonio Monfort and officials, as well as municipal authorities, agents and neighbors.

During the speech, the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard had words of gratitude for all citizens, highlighting his positive attitude during the pandemic, as well as his dedication to helping with the needs of the moment. Soliveres has also outlined that Xàbia and Benitatxell continue to maintain a low crime rate.
