Xàbia hosts the Zonal Chess tournament on the occasion of the "Jocs escolars of the Valencian Community". For five years the Xàbia Chess Club has been one of the organizing venues in each edition.
This year the participation is 62 children, which is a good number of kids, so from the Javiense it has been valued very positively. The players who play from 10 am in the "Miguel Buigues Andrés" pavilion, belong to the towns of Alcoy, Ibi, Novelda, Denia, La Nucia, Alicante and of course Xàbia.
