During the plenary held on Thursday night, the Mayor of Xàbia announced that next year it will request the construction of a second covered pavilion within the Works Plan of the Provincial Council of Alicante. Its location will be, almost certainly, next to the sports area of the Frechinal.
Practitioners of indoor sports have grown notably in the municipality, it is no longer just the sport of basketball or rhythmic gymnastics that uses the pavilion. For some years, sports such as handball or volleyball have been joined, which makes the use of the facility saturated.
The demand for the construction of a new pavilion is both latent and necessary. There are many athletes who demand more days of training, something that now can not be granted because the schedule is full. In fact, in the majority of the occasions the transversal tracks are used to make room for the equipment.
