Objective achieved: Xàbia can get to work on the necessary project to give use to the Cap de Sant Antoni. This Thursday morning has confirmed the beginning of the transfer of the property by the port authority of Alicante at Javea Town Hall, which allows the municipality to develop the proposal for public use of the lighthouse.
Mayor, José Chulvi, has highlighted the willingness of the leaders of the port authority to make this administrative process a reality in a few days, thus allowing Xàbia to commission the draft reform.
It was during the visit to the lighthouse that accompanied the president of the port authority of Alicante, Juan Antonio Gisbert; Carlos Eleno, director of the Port Authority of Alicante, and technicians of the agency, where they have been able to learn more about an important part of the maritime and historical heritage of the municipality, which due to its peculiarity is a great unknown to the population. In the visit they had an exceptional guide, Antonio Fontes, the technician responsible for everything to work in the two lighthouses of Xàbia.
It should be remembered that the intention of the City Council is to visit the lighthouse and give it a cultural and informative use, following the model of Albir, and even turn it into an interpretation center of the Marine Reserve that is part of the Natural Park Montgó, something that has the support of the Governing Board of the park.
