The youngest sailors of the sailing schools of the sailing clubs of Jávea, Dénia and Valencia participated this past Saturday in the first regatta of the Young Promising Tournament for Optimist class C. An event organized by the Club Nautico de Javea for the second consecutive year.
In total 32 sailors participated with ages between the 7 and 12 years. These future sailors do not have official tests, and for this reason the clubs decided to organize the tournament so that the young people feel like the older ones, the sailors of classes B and A.
As in an official test, the young sailors had their preparatory talk and subsequently went to the bay of Xàbia to dispute a total of 5 sleeves. Finally, the winner of the test was Tono Llabres, Beatriz Bueno was in second position and Irene Ibarra was third, all of them from the Royal Yacht Club of Valencia. In sub category 8, the first was Liam Woods of Club Nautico de Javea.
All participants received a medal and were able to enjoy a snack at the conclusion of the award ceremony.
The Young Promises tournament has the collaboration of the company Jotun. Your next test will be at the Real Club Náutico de Dénia, at a date yet to be determined.
