The Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium has started in Xàbia the works of what will be the first emergency landing surface of this organization in the province of Alicante. The infrastructure, which will be completed in a period of less than two months, is located on a municipally owned land between the port and the historic center, specifically on Garcilaso de la Vega street, in the area called Pou de Moro, in front of the Trenc d'Alba school.
The space is free of aerial wiring and is attached to a road, which guarantees access to ambulances and other emergency vehicles. The future emergency landing surface of the Provincial Consortium in Xàbia will be the first of a battery of twelve.
Emergency Deputy, Jaume Lloret, recalled that emergency landing surfaces are an initiative collected through dialogue with the municipalities and, in this particular case, with the consistory of Xàbia.
The remaining areas planned in the province of Alicante will be located in Alfafara, Benifallim, Fageca, Planes, Calp, Vall d'Alcalà, Pego, Santa Pola, Guadalest, Pilar de la Horadada and Salinas. Lloret stressed that "The investment and the ownership of the surfaces will be of the Consortium, but each and every one of them will be open to any emergency device. We build infrastructures to speed up the time of arrival to the emergency to all the intervening air media ".
These actions are part of the Provincial Emergency Infrastructure Plan launched by the Provincial Fire Brigade with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Alicante.
