How did you start to love racing?
It all started 22 years ago, I fought with a girl and decided to dedicate myself to the races.
Of all the specialties that you run, which one do you like the most?
Maybe the stairs because they are emblematic buildings, but where I most enjoy is by the mountain. I have climbed in buildings in London, Dubai, Brazil and every year I go up the Hotel Bali in Benidorm.
Where do you train to compete with snowshoes?
The truth is that I do not train, I go straight to the race and whatever comes out, they have no mystery, run and do not stop until the end.
What training plan does your coach Fran Beneyto design?
I work six days a week, rest one, and we usually alternate stronger days and others more slowly.
What title has filled you with more satisfaction?
I won a World championship With the team from Spain and was not at the individual level. Individually Snowshoe Championship, Was the first year without training and I was very excited.
Is the recognition given to you by the Javea Town Hall?
For me it is still early for this type of recognition. I have a couple of years left and I can win more races, for me the ideal would be to give this recognition when the race is over.
What advice would you give to young people who start in athletics?
What I would tell them is that they did not only think about winning, I have gotten to where I am because I have never had ambitions to be number one, if one day I finish the tenth, try to be ninth in the next race.
How does a person as timid as you carry the tributes?
I'm not shy, I'm a person of few words and I get nervous when I have to talk.
Without a sponsor, how do you finance travel around the world to race?
Money leaves home, my parents help me a lot and when you win a career you are invited to participate in another, I have not had scholarships, but yes economic recognition, but that was some years ago.
How do you see the future of athletics in Xàbia?
I see it very well, there are many boys and girls, there is a lot of hobby and Llebeig Athletics Club is doing well. I started with this club and now it is much better.
Does Xàbia need an athletics track?
The more there are things to do better, not only for athletics, in Dénia there is an athletics track and not everyone is going to run, you can do other sports. We gather on the track of the school Graüll and then each one chooses a route to train. I hope and wish that someday we can enjoy an athletic track in conditions.
How many races have you played this year in all modalities?
The truth is that I do not count them but I usually run two races a month.
What are the goals for the rest of the season?
Now I have the Spanish Championship for Mountain Clubs, There are two months left for this appointment and then to "enjoy"Of the races of Stair climbs the world.
