Harold Plaskett winner of 'XXX Villa de Xàbia Tournament' and 'XXVII Mare de Déu del Loreto' of Xàbia

The International Grand Master, Harold Plaskett, a very experienced player and a strong player of the Raspeig Chess Club, was the winner of the XXX Tournament Villa de Xàbia and XXVII Mare de Déu del Loreto, by adding 6,5 points of the possible 7.

The tournament was a successful participation and a high level chess by having 15 qualified players between Grand Masters, International Masters and Masters of Fide, all of them of different nationalities.

The appointment in Xàbia has become a classic of the Valencian Community, so there were many fans who came to see the development of the games.

During the tournament was attended by the president of the Festival of Virgen del Loreto, Vicente Gavilá, Sports Councilor of Xàbia, Vicent Colomer and José Francisco Erades, who is the driving force behind many of the town's sports and cultural activities.

They themselves were commissioned, at the end of the tournament, to deliver the deserved prizes to the best players in each of the categories. All of them agreed to thank the participants for their efforts, congratulated the players, referees, tournament organizers and collaborators and encouraged everyone to continue attending this event in future editions.
