25 March 2017 - 00: 04

The Councilor for the Environment of Xàbia, Doris Courcelles, And the municipal archaeologist, Joaquim Bolufer, have participated in a visit to the Cova Tallada organized by the new director of Natural Park Montgó.

In this first meeting it was raised how to regulate the visits and avoid their overcrowding in summer. Also present at this contact and inspection were representatives of the Town hall of Dénia, the Consortium of firefighters, forest agents and even active tourism companies.

With the study of new measures, Xàbia shows its total involvement in the application of protectionist actions in this marine cavity under the cliffs of the Cape San Antonio, which in recent years has suffered great human pressure, especially during the summer season.

Protected space

La Cova Tallada is part of the municipal catalog of protected areas as a Property of Local Relevance of Xàbia and is currently under study by the Generalitat to see if it is declared a Property of Cultural Interest due to the condition of an archaeological site and an old stone quarry.
