Fifth grade schoolchildren interviewed the mayor of Xàbia

El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, underwent a very particular press conference. It dealt with current municipal, state and international issues, with schoolchildren in the fifth grade of the school Vicente Tena, who acted as journalists.

The main focus of attention was on the situation of refugees from the Syrian war and how the Town hall could help to alleviate their situation. In this sense, José Chulvi explained that from Xàbia they work with different humanitarian aid organizations. He highlighted that he recently turned himself in to UNHCR (the United Nations organization in charge of the situation of refugees) from the collection of the calendar “Architecture and Temps"Published by the Department of Tourism. In total about 5.000 euros they were donated.

Likewise, the students demonstrated to follow the news that the municipality generates daily and wanted to know what was the situation of the project of the municipal swimming pool and of the new auditorium. Of the first, the mayor of Xàbia stressed his confidence in being included in the next budget of the Generalitat Valenciana. And of the second, he expressed his intention of being able to open it for all the neighbors in this legislature, since the first steps have been taken to start the project.

It was also time to discuss the operation of the City Council, how they work full and commissions, of particular cases and xicotetions and even the same situation as mayor José Chulvi, who told reporters improvised "to help people in your village from this position is very rewarding".

Finally, two students at the school recorded part one piece with the mayor to broadcast on the radio program is from the school.
