Schoolchildren of Benitatxell recreate the landscape of its coastline on the school wall

13 December 2017 - 16: 44

With the indications of the regional artist, Ginés Salvá, the schoolchildren of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell recreated the landscape of the Moraig, the Morro Falquí and the Cova dels Arcs in the courtyard wall of the Santa María Magdalena CEIP in the town. It was during the holidays of the December bridge when the students held this workshop organized by the Department of Education, by Myra van 't Hoff.

The workshop, totally free, besides embellishing the walls of the schoolyard, encouraged the work conciliation of the last bridge of the Constitution and the stimulation of the creativity of schoolchildren. Under the motto Leave your artistic mark on the walls of your school, the activity has given life to the school playground.

"It has been a great experience. Apart from reconciling work life, school children have had a great time. Ginés Salva has managed to awaken his most artistic side and get the best out of them. The opportunity to get started in urban art painting the walls of their own school is something they will always remember " Myra van 't Hoff has highlighted.

The mural captures the essence of the coastline of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. In the sea there are sea urchins, starfish, octopus and the most common fish species of the seabed of the local coves to promote knowledge of their marine ecosystem. The activity has been so well received that the Department of Education plans to give continuity and extend it to other urban walls of the municipality.
