The CN Jávea sailor, José Luís Boronat, is proclaimed champion of Spain of Funboard Slalom

14 September 2020 - 10: 54

The yachtsman from Club Nautico de Javea, José Luis Boronat, has been proclaimed Champion of Spain of Funboard Slalom, after the tests held this weekend in Roses, in the province of Girona.

Boronat has been the best in the set of disputed tests in which the wind conditions have presented heads and tails, being very good on Friday, on Saturday at the limit to suspend the test and on Sunday finally it could not be carried out none in the absence of wind.

All in all, the sailors were able to complete an entire tie, and already in that first test, Boronat reached the final but could not win it, something that he could do in the second final played on Saturday with winds "Very limits". Which led to some protests and the test was canceled. But this Sunday, the sailor himself Club Nautico de Javea presented a new protest and the evidence was accepted again by the Judges.

In this way Boronat has managed to be the best of the 21 participants, and his good sets have earned him the first position, tied in points with the second.

Boronat has been very happy since “I have been working hard and last year I could not be close due to mistakes made, now I have learned and finally achieved my first national title. This would not have been possible without the great support of the Club Náutico de Jávea and the excellent conditions of the bay, which allow me to improve in each training session ”.

He also recalled that 2020 has been a very different year due to the coronavirus pandemic, since the health crisis has forced the cancellation of almost all the tests on the national circuit "And only Girona has been disputed."

The next appointment for the Club Náutico de Jávea sailor will be next weekend in Puerto Sherry (Cádiz) the Spanish Foil and Raceboard Championship for which Boronat hopes to achieve the best goals.
