Last Sunday the first scoring test for the Spanish Cross Country Championship took place in the town of Cózar (Ciudad Real).
After three seasons ending on the podium of the Valencian territorial championships and MotoDes, it was time to take another step forward and make the leap to the national championship in 2021.
In this first test, a total of 145 pilots from different specialties gathered, being the first test of a national nature, it has served so that the best pilots of each discipline came to prepare their season in this race, which has allowed Cristóbal to start the season sharing the track with the best national riders of various specialties, and even with some enduro world champion (another modality that Cristóbal will compete in 2021).
After a somewhat unusual preseason due to Covid restrictions, we have trained as much as possible for the challenge that Cristóbal faced, to compete in a national and in the absolute Senior category. Undoubtedly the one that represents the highest level and in which it achieved a worthy eighth final position, some overheating problems in the rear brake made us lose some position in the last half hour of the race, remember that these races are held on a dirt track full of obstacles lasting two hours, so good physical preparation is essential.
It should be noted that one more year, in this 2021 it will have the collaboration of La Mezquida Racing and the renewal with its Team Casco Rojo team, which according to reports are very happy with the evolution suffered by the pilot, it is undoubtedly the moment that all of Jávea support and enjoy the great athlete that is Cristóbal Cholbi Mengual.
