The Paseo de la Grava de Xàbia will host the second edition of the Festival del Mar, organized by the Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Customs of the Sea and the Javea Town Hall.
This event, repeated after the success of the first year, returns with important new features, more participants and a wider space allows to bring the show to the Mediterranean. This was announced by the president of ACEAM, Yolanda Ponce, who explained that this second edition has as main challenge to value the natural resources of the sea and all activities resulting therefrom, in addition to attracting residents and visitors to the shopping area and hospitality of Duanes of Javea.
The opening of the festival will be attended by traders in the area, institutional representatives and Rafa Andarias, twice champion of Spain Adapted Sailing and elected godfather of the festival.
Responsible for organizing the festival, Rodolph Dupuis, explained that the main axes on which will turn this second edition are professional boat show, a nautical market of preowned materials, demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops, gastronomic menus and attractions and, Finally, a sports comxicotetion surfsky.
So, from the moment of its opening until its closing on Sunday afternoon, visitors can enjoy numerous sports activities, exhibitions ship modeling, rowing, canoeing, stand up paddle, Flyboard, christenings the free sea, free outings boat underwater viewing of Mundomarino, workshops fishing techniques and cordage; an informative and conferences exhibition on sharks in our waters or cetaceans, a concert of Inti Cardoso, guided the Pòsit visits, parade of swimsuits and Ibizan clothes, a mock rescue, show cooking cruet of peix, show bartending, themed menus with seafood in local restaurants and a theatrical route through the port.
Also during the festival will be held the 4ª test Surf skiing League XI Seakayaking of Valencia 2013A very spectacular event as the mayor for economic development, Juan Luis Cardona.
For Cardona, this event will become a "important attraction for Xàbia and its business sector, because it will allow to create contacts in the nautical world".
