El IES La Mar de Xàbia received last Friday the highest recognition in the Smokeless Classroom contest, organized by the Department of Universal Health and Public Health of the Autonomous Community. The Autonomous Secretary of Public Health, Ofèlia Gimeno, was in charge of presenting the award to the educational institution at a ceremony held at its facilities.
The smoke-free classroom contest aims to promote preventive activities against smoking among young people. The IES La Mar de Xàbia actively participated in this initiative, standing out for its commitment and effort in raising awareness about the risks of tobacco.
The award ceremony was attended by the Public Health Commissioner, Juan Ruiz, and the Director of the Dénia Public Health Center, Pasqual Martí, who accompanied the Gimeno Autonomous Secretary. In addition, the students of the Oberta classroom of the educational center had the honor of giving the authorities a small detail prepared by themselves, as a token of appreciation for the recognition received.
The regional prize awarded to the IES La Mar de Xàbia is endowed with 1500 euros, which will be used for the purchase of school supplies. This important recognition not only praises the work carried out by the educational institution, but also reinforces its commitment to the health and well-being of its students.
