The great atmosphere of Xàbia welcomes 1500 athletes at the start of the Circuit a Peu Marina Alta

The great sports festival has been lived today in Xàbia with the start of the Circuit a Peu Marina Alta. Nearly 1500 runners have gathered in front of the Palau d'Esports Miguel Buigues to carry out the 34th Volta a Peu Xàbia -José Albi Memorial.

From early in the morning, the great atmosphere of the clubs was lived in the vicinity of the starting line. Just minutes after 10:00 a.m., the countdown was given to start with the almost 10 kilometers that comprised this circular route sporting event that ran along the Xabiero coast.

The encouragement and shouts of the public and volunteers have filled the thousand athletes with energy, but the greatest strength has come with the sound of music. The groups of the youth band, Colla de dolçaines i tabalet and the batukada have invaded the runners with rhythm and joy during almost the entire route.

After 30 minutes from the starting gun, the fastest runners were already reaching the finish line. Mark Tanner, Mohamed Rida Younes and Adrián Hadri were the first three men to stop the clock. Tanner and Moha have completed the same time, at an average of 3 minutes and 19 seconds per kilometer, lowering the time of the 23rd edition by 33 seconds. Adrian Hadri crossed the finish line in a time of 32:42.

In women, the three steps on the podium have been for Andrea Abad, María Isabel Ferrer and Rosa Baldó. Abad had a time of 36:44, followed by Ferrer stopping the clock at 37:19 and Baldó at 0:38:11.

Mª Isabel Ferrer, Irene Bolufer and Lisa Childs have been the three locals, members of CA Llebeig, who have obtained the best times.

In addition, the three local women who have obtained the best times have been Mª Isabel Ferrer, Irene Bolufer and Lisa Childs, members of CA Llebeig.

Once again, the Club Atletisme Llebeig de Xàbia has made it successful again. The race has been well organized and has passed without incident. The weather accompanied the whole morning for the development of the race, only the air against in the last section of the route stopped the most popular when subtracting
seconds on their marks or set goals, where there were few dropouts.

After the adults, the little ones have been the protagonists with their races in the vicinity of the Palau d'Esports. Over 400 young athletes distributed by different categories, the Barrufets and the Pre-Benjamines categories that do not score points in the Circuit, gave way to the categories that do score points, from Benjamin to Juveniles.

Lara Fornés and Adam Atarri, both belonging to CA Llebeig de Xàbia, were the winners in the category
Benjamin. The best in the Alevín category were Noa Asensio and Jindra Pospil, covering a distance of 1000
meters.

The Children ran 1500 meters, being María Devesa from CA Llebeig de Xàbia) and Paco Arasteny the fastest. The first to complete the 2500 meters in the Cadet category were Anna Caravaca and Marcos Pérez.

The Juveniles would close the morning race, completing 3500 meters, Celia Fornés and Roc Martí were the fastest to complete their distance.

The next test of the Circuit a Peu will be the 10th Edition of the Cursa Popular de Calp, a tribute to Paul Megson, which will take place on Sunday, March 5 over a distance of 9 kilometers, with a very beautiful route passing through one of the most emblematic of this population with the background of the Peñón de Ifach.
