This Friday, Xàbia puts the focus on traditional and root music with a new edition of the Xàbia Folk festival. On Friday and Saturday nights there will be two large-format concerts in a tent set up in the Plaza de
the Constitution, at 22:30 p.m.

The first of them will be starring Teresa Salgueiro, a benchmark of Portuguese folk and the voice of the prestigious Madredeus. Salgueiro treasures more than 30 years of professional career and a thousand concerts in the best venues in the world. In Xàbia she will present together with Fábio Palma (accordion and keyboards), Ana Albiño (guitar), Sofia Queiroz (double bass) and Rui Lobato (drums, percussion and guitar) her latest work "Inside the Silence" at the
that offers a collection of emblematic songs from Portugal and Latin America with a message of love and freedom.

On Saturday there will be two proposals, since the afternoon concert is recovered, at 19:00 p.m., in the House of Culture with two performers and great teachers like Cati Plana (diatonic accordion) and Pau Puig (dolçaina and bansuri), who will present a chamber music proposal entitled “Tretze vares”.

At night, Noèlia Llorens “Titana” will take the stage in Constitución Square, an example of the new generation of singers who will offer a selection of popular songs and others newly created with arrangements by producer Pau Cháfer.

Already on Sunday, the XXI edition of Xàbia Folk will close with a history of music with Valencian roots such as Artur Blasco (accordion, voice and rabequet) who will perform in a duo with the violinist Marién de Casimiro in an intimate concert at 12 noon in the hermitage of Santa Llúcia.

All concerts are free admission.
