After the last day of the individual provincial championship of chess in the preferred category of the Valencian Community that was played in the headquarters of Xàbia, there were no surprises and the Dianense player, Manuel González revalidated the title.
Gonzalez played his last game of the championship against his good friend Antonio Terrades. Both players offered a very tough game. The final triumph of Gonzalez allowed him to be the best, with a final balance of six wins and a draw.
The second place went to veteran player Bob Arnot that after seven games played has scored five points, the same as José María Najarro. Arnot on the last day beat Andrés Daza, whereas Najarro did not step of tables in his game before Enrique Cervera.
The javiense headquarters, organized by the EC Xàbia together with the Chess Federation of Valencia, was attended by chess players of the Marina Alta.
Within the club xabiero have marked as next goal to be participating in the different tournaments that will take place at the Bali Hotel in Benidorm from 28 from November to 8 in December. A date in which in addition to several Xàbia players will be more than 1.000 players from different countries.
