The Cor of the Generalitat Valenciana starts its concert tour through the community on Friday with a total of six concerts and a program 'a cappella' that, under the title of 'Valencian music amb el Cor', travels through the Valencian musical history from the 16th to the 21st century, with works by the songbooks of Gandía, the Duke of Calabria, Ginés Pérez, Matías Navarro, Matilde Salvador and M. Teresa Oller, among others.

The Cor of the Generalitat Valenciana will be directed on this tour by Jordi Blanch, and it is a mixed choir formed by a template of 31 singers. The Cor de la Generalitat depends on the Deputy Directorate of Music and Popular Culture of the Valencià Institute of Culture. The titular director of the Cor de la Generalitat is Francesc Perales, Jordi Blanch the assistant director and Francesc Hervás the accompanying pianist.

Concert tour

The first concert of the tour will be the September 27, at 19.30 hours, in the Church of the Blood of Llíria. The 29 of September, at 19.30 hours, will take place the second concert at the Church of the Santos Juanes de Puçol, and the 2 of October, at 20.00 hours, at the Calderón de Alcoi Theater.

On October 4, the Cor de la Generalitat will continue the tour, at 19.30 pm, with a concert at the Teatro Principal de Monóvar. On October 6, at 19.00:7 p.m., it will be the turn of the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo in Altea. Finally, the concert that will close the tour will be on October 20.30, at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., at the Church of St. Bartholomew Javea.

Color of the Generalitat Valenciana

It was created in 1987 with the name of Cor de València. He is the titular choir of the Palau de les Arts, while developing a constant activity in the main auditoriums of the Valencian Community. He has performed the great works of the choral symphonic repertoire and the main lyric genre titles, and frequents the 'a cappella' repertoire, with special attention to the Valencian composers.

The Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana is present in the most important Spanish seasons and festivals, and has sung in Guanajuato (Mexico), Havana, New York, Paris, Lisbon, Rome, Amsterdam or Hamburg. Together with Carles Santos, he has participated in the Olympic ceremonies of Barcelona 92.

He has recorded records for Sony, Decca and Deutsche Grammophon with the Orchestra of the Valencian Community and soloists such as Plácido Domingo, Juan Diego Flórez or Andrea Bocelli, and monographs on Mompou, Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo, Luis de Pablo, Matilde Salvador or Alfredo Aracil, along with others of ancient music with the group Capella de Ministers.

The recording 'Verdi Domingo' was awarded the Latin Grammy for the best classical music album of 2014. He has intervened on DVD with Maazel, Mehta or La Fura dels Baus, among other artistic leaders. He has performed under the batons of the main Valencian and Spanish directors, in addition to Claudio Abbado, Roberto Abbado, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Fabio Biondi, Riccardo Chailly, Valeri Guérguiev, Leopold Hager, Sir Neville Marriner, Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Marc Minkowski, Krzysztof Penderecki, Michel Plasson, Georges Prêtre, Helmuth Rilling, Guennadi Rojdestvenski, Mstislav Rostropóvich, Claudio Scimone and Alberto Zedda.

To celebrate his thirtieth anniversary, he offered a concert directed by Plácido Domingo. He has been awarded the Medal of Honor of the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada, the Commemorative Medal of the XXV Anniversary of the Palau de la Música Valenciana, the Clar de Llums prize of the University of Valencia, the Important of the Valencian Press Editorial and the Medal of Merit in Fine Arts of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos.
