Merchants Association Historic Center a year Xàbia engage in complementary activities Xàbia Jazz festivalIt has launched a comxicotetion for installations inspired by jazz to acclimate trade. These have been installed in the windows of several establishments in the town, thus serving as promotion for the international festival which begins on Saturday.
In total there are six participants in this little contest and his works range from paintings of small and large format installations that combine techniques like crochet.
The pieces are designs by China Moon, tricocorras, Isabel Blat, Colin Tofts, Graciela Wahl, Maggie Morgan Colins or Román Cholbi. The merchants association will present the prize this Friday at the riurau d'Arnauda, taking advantage of the screening of the film "Around midnight".
Pre-festival activities begin today with small concerts in public spaces and will be carried out by local contractors as Folk Jazz Trio o Sax Express. Also throughout the week there will be a workshop to awaken the curiosity and sensitivity of children for jazz and on Thursday, at 22 hours in the riurau d'Arnauda there will be a conference by J. Manuel García Guibert.
The previous program ends Friday with the traveling performance of the Xàbia Jazz Dixieland Band will perform in the streets of the historic center and the screening of the film "Around midnight"(Round Midnight), at 21 hours in the riurau.
Saturday and begin the concerts with Jean Toussaint Quartet "Roots and Herbs"The Blakey Project, while on Sunday a swing night is scheduled with Raúl Márquez Trio y The sister! and on Monday will close the event Danish Stefano Bollani Trio.
All the concerts are at 22:30 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución and tickets can be purchased in advance at the tourism offices and on the instanticket portal.
