The Toro Prats Muay Thai Club promotes a sports workshop for people with disabilities in Xàbia

20 October 2023 - 07: 44

The Toro Prats Muay Thai Club has launched, together with the Sports Department of Xàbia, directed by Toni Molina, a sports workshop for people with disabilities. Paco Prats is responsible for this workshop that takes place at the Palau d'Esports facilities and which currently has two users who have various disabilities. Prats explained that the exercises he proposes are adapted to each of the attendees.

Dora is one of the attendees of this workshop, with a visual disability, she recognized that gyms directly “say no to all people who suffer from disabilities”, which is why she highlighted this initiative by Paco Prats, to be able to practice sports. Dora, despite her disability, does Muay Thai and kick boxing exercises without any problem.

Prats stressed that he would like more clubs in Xàbia to launch similar initiatives and invited all those people with disabilities who want to join his workshop. “They can come and we evaluate with them the exercises they can do, if they need the support of a third person,” but “the most important thing is that they sign up and many more people come.”

The Sports Councilor attended this workshop a few days ago and wanted to thank Paco Prats for his involvement, and stressed that he has "my support as well as the entire council." “I feel especially proud to be able to contribute so that this proposal aimed at allowing people with disabilities to practice sports becomes a reality in our municipality,” the councilor remarked.

The workshop is free, the training sessions are Wednesdays and Fridays, and only the federal license is necessary. For more information you can contact the Palau d'Esports staff.
