Councilman Environment, Tony Miragall, and the forestry engineer of the Javea Town Hall, Ricardo Juan, have been this week in the forest area of the granadella together with cyclists from the Xàbia Bikers club to review the state of trails such as those of the gurugú or Teuleria after the last torrential rains.
As explained by Miragall, the City Council wants to facilitate and provide coverage to athletes to make small repairs, always in a coordinated manner and respecting environmental guidelines, to prevent further erosion and that these can be reused with guarantees by mountain bikers .
The objective is also to redirect those who practice mountain biking along these routes, which are highly frequented due to their technical nature and attractive landscape. And above all, raise awareness and stop the bustle through areas of the mountain that are recovering from the fire and improve coexistence with other uses of Granadella, like hiking.
In fact, the councilman also met a few months ago with the Xàbia Excursionist Center within this trail recovery project. Miragall has thanked clubs for their willingness to improve an environmental heritage such as the paths in forest areas.
