21 September 2020 - 14: 54

El Town hall of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) embodied in the 2030 Agenda (equality, protection of the planet and prosperity), it has proposed to move towards a green consumption model that is respectful of the planet. And one of the first steps has been taken in the municipal facilities themselves, replacing single-use plastic bottles with refillable canteens.

Thus, water dispensing machines have been installed in all municipal buildings (City Hall, Office of Citizen, checkpoint of the Local Police, Tourism, Servicios Sociales, Health Center, Music School, Municipal Swimming Pool, Library and Poble Net) and a canteen with the consistory logo has been delivered to all public employees.

"By changing our habits with small actions we can contribute to taking care of our planet, and it is important that public administrations set an example", said the Councilor for Local Sustainable Development, Mayte Roldán.

The current government team has advocated since its constitution for the 2030 Agenda with actions such as the drafting and implementation of a Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism or joining the project 'Libraries in Equality'. In fact, the structure of the municipal delegations reflects a clear commitment to sustainable development, innovation and citizen participation.
