A week ago, the beautiful image that wore the Paseo de Marina Española in Duanes de la Mar, was tinged by vandalism. The fish, the great iron sculpture of Tony Mari, which is part of the ecollective exhibition of the Casa del Cable, CABLE ART SET, which attracted the glances of all the visitors, appeared knocked down, as this wording echoed with the article by Juan Legaz.
Today, the author of the work, the artist and sculptor from Xàbia, Toni Marí, has returned to work to lift the fish and make it look for the next few weeks in front of the exhibition hall. Reinforced on the stone, the sculpture returns to focus the gazes of tourists and neighbors who seek to take their best photo and that in turn fills this space on the seafront with life.
The truth is that we already have more than enough cement, rocks brought from other places, iron shaped like fish or humans and garbage of various kinds that leave little room to appreciate nature. I suppose that, tourists and locals look at the fish, what a remedy, but not necessarily with the same pleasure. Thank you that you will only be there for a few weeks, dirtying, in my opinion, the landscape. The artist can always take it to his garden or some other private place.
