Ecologists in Action demonstrates on the Arenal beach before the breakage of the emissary

06 June 2022 - 10: 24

Ecologists in Action Marina Alta stood, yesterday morning, in the Arenal Beach to inform bathers of the "insufficient quality" of the sea water, for bathing, due to the breakage of the outfall. With banners that read: "It's not a jacuzzi, it's a broken outfall" or "the outfall is broken. It's not healthy to swim in this sea", the group of environmentalists in action tried to ban visitors from bathing and tourists.

The environmental group reported that the submarine outfall is broken 30 meters from the shore "and expels contaminated water", based on the result of a report issued by the EPSAR (Public Entity for Wastewater Sanitation). According to this document, although the wastewater expelled by the outfall is treated by means of the sewage treatment plant, its analysis has shown that the water contains a level of 200 of enterococci (bacteria).

"Insufficient water quality"

This figure, according to Ecologists in Action, "exceeds the value of sufficient quality as established by law" and explains that "the limit is 185, so everything that exceeds is that the quality is insufficient." Also, the environmentalists have submerged in the point of the emissary to check the breakage, "we see that brown and very dirty water comes out of the pipe".

Ecologists in Action has demanded that bathing be prohibited in the northern part of the Arenal Beach until the failure of the outfall is corrected and the water has recovered its optimum values. Likewise, the environmental group has filed a complaint in the Dénia Court against EPSAR and the Javea Town Hall asking the judge to decree the precautionary measure of partial closure of this beach.

The award of the repair work was made a few days ago by the EPSAR to the company PAVASAL. The group assures that the bathers were upset for not having prior information about this bad situation of the sea.

It is a pity that the Arenal beach is contaminated with sewage. We are almost in August and every day it is dirtier. From now on it will be ORINAL beach instead of sandbank. It is a shame that they do not fix the sewage outfall

This is a No News, since always everything in Jávea goes to the Sea, the Treatment Plant do you think it does something?

The answer is no. (The debugging actions are the same as when we were four cats, imagine now...)

Meanwhile, thousands of new neighbors throw EVERYTHING down the cistern, let them know that they will bathe with it, there is no other!

      North Korea Venezuela, Cuba, Jàvea…

North Korea??!! But do you have proof of what happens on the beaches of that country? Maybe they are better. As for the Venezuelan and Cuban beaches…they are authentic natural paradises, Javea is a bidet next to them. Look for photos on the Internet if you don't want to travel and educate yourself a little.

It is a real shame and the responsibility lies with the City Council of Jávea
