Double victory for Lucy Crosbie and Arantza Reig from CN Xàbia at the start of Dinghy Sailing in Calp

The Real Club Náutico de Calp hosted last weekend the first Dinghy Sailing test in the Valencian Community of this new season. In this way, the first event of the Autonomous Cup of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community was held, with the ILCA, 420 and 29er as protagonists within the framework of the RCNC-Dinghy Sailing Trophy.

A regatta marked by the dominance of the Cartagena RCR in ILCA 4, both in SUB18 and SUB16. Also because of the level of the 29er Valencians, with Sara and Isa Momplet and Mateo and Simón Codoñer (RCN Valencia) clearly dominating, and the relief that the Jávea CN has taken at the head of the 420. In the rest, the favorites have complied with the established script and with the new batch stepping strong after the change of category.

A weekend that has had two faces. On Saturday, these good wind conditions made it possible to close the scheduled program of three tests for ILCA 4 and ILCA 6, while ILCA 7, 420 and 29er closed the day with four.

On Sunday, quite the opposite, even and despite the committee's attempt to close a test, which it was able to fulfill in extremis for the 420. The ILCA fleet, in its three categories, after passing the halfway point of the test and in the face of the total fall of the wind, the committee had no choice but to hoist 'N' canceling the tests for them. The 29ers haven't even been able to get out on the race course.

With that test of the 420 today, plus the four on Saturday, they conclude their participation in Calp with five. Lucy Crosbie and Arantza Reig (CN Jávea) take two trophies: first in women and first in the absolute general. The podium has been closed with Kevin Lenis and Fernando Puig, also from the Jávea nautical team, and bronze for Guillem Serrat and Aleksis Tjurins (CN Altea).

The Codoñers and the Momplets lead the 29er

The 29er class, which today has been left without going out on the water, closes its season premiere with four tests, all held yesterday. As planned, a fleet made up entirely of sailors from the RCN of Valencia and with two protagonists: The brothers Mateo and Simón Codoñer on the one hand and Isa and Sara Momplet on the other.

Both crews have achieved wins in their respective categories, as planned. The Codoñer have cemented their victory in sets of 2-2-1-1 and the Momplet with 1-1-3-2, so and after applying a discard, both conclude tied with 4 points. Bronze for Sergi Soler and Guillermo Castellano.

The Cartagena RCR imposes its law on ILCA 4

The RCR of Cartagena has shone with its own light in the Calpine event by taking the first places on the podium in ILCA 4, both in SUB16 and in SUB18. Manu Barrionuevo triumphed twice: SUB18 and 16, while Guillermo León and Fernando Abella took silver and bronze respectively in the youngest.

In this category, the women's podium was closed with Ainhoa ​​Gómez (RCN Torrevieja) followed by Elsa Rodado (CN Mar Menor) and the local Anna Koreckka (RCN Calpe). With regard to the SUB18 Silvia Ruíz (CN Mar Menor) takes the title to Los Alcázares, silver for Gómez from Torrevieja, and bronze for Rodado from Alcazar.

Joan Ravie, without rival in ILCA 6

As for the ILCA 6, CN Campello's representative, Joan Ravie, had no problems winning the title, despite scoring fifth place in yesterday's second round. The two wins achieved in the two previous tests allow him to lift the trophy in Calp twice: General and SUB19. Category in which Claudia Adán has won the female trophy. In SUB17 Milosz Krolikowski (RCN Torrevieja) and Adriana Castro (RNC Torrevieja) have won the title.

Regarding the absolute general, Joan Ravie signs the first place, as well as Adriana Castro, while Antonio Ramón-Borja (RCR Alicante) and Sergio Frias (RCN Torrevieja) point out the silver and bronze, respectively.

Mariano Cebrián debuts with a win at ILCA 7

With regard to 'the greats' of ILCA, the 7, victory of Mariano Cebrián (CN Benidorm) in his debut at the ILCA 7 in a regional event, to date he competed in the ILCA 6. His debut has been at the level that he has been demonstrating in the lower categories. With three partial wins and a third place, the title is won in Calp.
Silver for Adolfo Virgili (RCR Alicante), 3 points behind Cebrián, and bronze for Gonzalo Suárez (CN Altea).

The award ceremony was held on the terrace of the Real Club Náutico de Calpe, with the presence of Noelia Císcar, Councilor for Social Welfare and Ana Perles, Councilor for Sports of the Calp City Council; Carlos Torrado, president of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community and Elsa Schleissner, Member of the Board of Directors of the Real Club Náutico Calpe and Vice President of the FVCV.
