The player from Jávea, David Ferrer, has been awarded the "José Antonio Samaranch 2014" award, granted by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation.
The javiense was nominated for the distinction by Manolo Galé, president of the Commission of Distinctions of that federation. The reasons given were; their values as a person, his quality as a player and his constant efforts that have made it a world leader. Arguments that convinced all members of the assembly agreed unanimously to grant this distinction.
The president of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, José Luis Escañuela, said of the javiense, "it is a pride for the country and a mirror of the values that make an athlete an example to be followed by everyone."
This award is received in previous years; Rafael Nadal and Carlos Moyá, in the third edition has corresponded him the player of Jávea. David Ferrer, boasts in his career ATP Tour titles 21, 43 of late he has played.
It is part of the Spanish Davis Cup team from 2006, which has a balance in comxicotetion 23 27 win games, being a key player in Spain's victories in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
