Red Cross Jávea evacuates by sea a young woman who remained in the closed Cala Ambolo

25 July 2019 - 14: 46

A young woman of 28 has had to be evacuated by sea this afternoon after suffering a lipotimia in Cala Ambolo de Xàbia, an area closed due to the risk of landslides.

A Local Police boat, a Red Cross boat and by land a Civil Guard patrol and a Local Police patrol participated in the operation. After an initial assessment of the woman's condition, the lifeguards have decided to immobilize her with a spinal board to guarantee a safe transfer to the boat and from it, to the pier of La granadella where a Red Cross ambulance was waiting for her for later transfer to the Xàbia Health center.

The emergency means highlight the difficulty of this type of intervention in a place where access is completely prohibited due to the danger of landslides.

This year, despite having completely fenced its entrance and installed a barrier to prevent the entry of vehicles, there are numerous users who ignore the danger and continue to compromise their safety as well as that of the emergency bodies.

    Xabiera, totally agree with you.

Xabiero, of course, is a beautiful little beach and I have been fortunate, years ago, to be able to bathe in it. But if there is danger of detachments, I understand that it closes, even if it annoys some, and if it is forbidden the passage does not pass and that's it. What you should never do is skip the rules and do what you get out of your nose, as that tourist has done (or also Pablo Motos, entering a protected cave with a jet ski, what is totally forbidden), because if we are all tourists or not, we do the same, we are ready. Whole device deployed to take it out, who pays it? It has been a lipotimia, but if a rock falls on it, who is to blame? A bit of good sense, education and citizenship is not bad at all.

Well, knowing that it has been a simple lipotimia and that insurance is recovering soon, I hope that the irresponsible will be charged for the entire cost of the operation and will be denounced for ignoring the signs that indicate the danger and the closure of the creek.

How to close access to a beach from which many come from afar exclusively to bathe in it?
It is difficult to control the desire to bathe in paradise and even less to make people understand that the danger is further from the rocks that may come upon you. For example what has happened to this woman. And that's a small example ... Without the intention of giving ideas, but if they don't want anyone to come down, they will have to make it very difficult from above. Example; control of passage as in the urbanizations of millionaire people. Although that would be unfair ... the beach belongs to everyone. I don't know you can do anything with that beach. They would have to put a barcobus ... huff, I take a long time !!! It is a simple opinion. They can't shut down that site. Then they would have to give an alternative
