Within the special programming for the Sorolla Year, the historian David Gutiérrez will offer on Thursday, March 30, at 19:30 p.m., at the House of Culture, a conference titled Joaquín Sorolla's drawings in
Xàbia.
This act is the second to be held in the town on the occasion of the centenary of the artist's death. The first act that started with this tribute was the exhibition From Idea to Bronze of Javier de Benito that took place in the Casa del Cable. The exhibition showed the complex evolutionary process involved in making a bronze sculpture.
De Benito takes as an example his sculpture of Joaquín Sorolla painting the Cap de Sant Antoni which was commissioned by Javea Town Hall for the commemoration of the 125th anniversary of his first stay in the town and which can be seen on the promenade that bears the name of the painter.
