'Cançons de la Marina', the first album by the Grup de Danses Portitxol to recover Valencian culture

The Grup de Danses Portitxol de Xàbia will present, on October 6, its first album, Cançons de la Marina, in a show that will take place, at 20 hours, in the Church Square entitled 'An inheritor tresor'. This event is contemplated within the program of events planned on the occasion of the October 9.

The musical scenographic show will be in charge of the Danses Portitxol Group. The president of the Danses Group, Pepa Sala, explained that the first album and the show will be presented as "It is a project that we had in mind for a long time and it is time to start it. It is an effort of our group and many hours of work, so we hope it will be a success and it will not be a performance to use, there is more prominence of the rondalla and the show is based on the objective of the album, transporting the public to the past, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, where Xàbia had a time of splendor. "

Meanwhile, Isabel Martí, a traditional dance teacher, a member of the Danses Portitxol Group and who will receive the October 9 prize Vila de Xàbia 2019 for civic values ​​has commented that this album includes dances and songs from the Marina Alta "and is based on the memories of the elderly. The album includes a total of 17 songs by Xàbia and other municipalities such as Pedreguer, Orba, Teulada, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, La Vall de Gallinera and Castells de Castells. Pieces and songs of party that have been carried out with the collaboration of Pep Gimeno 'Botifarra' and the production of the album is by Héctor Peropadre ".

Martí has ​​indicated that in the album they have collaborated from children of 10 years to people over 80 years, "The recording work has been hard and despite being amateurs, the work has been very professional, the Generalitat, the Diputación and the Javea Town Hall that apart from putting money they have provided us with a place to record as it has been at the Xàbia Conservatory ".

With this work it has been possible to preserve the musical heritage and within the album there are texts with sailor motifs of Ximo Bolufer, Pepa Guardiola or Amadeu Ros.
