They are looking for the owner of the new treasure found in l'Illa del Portitxol de Xàbia

August 07 from 2023 - 10: 55

L'Illa del Portitxol is a box of surprises, or rather, a corner of treasures. The new history that surrounds this emblematic place in Xàbia is full of romanticism. The protagonists of the discovery, according to a Belgian newspaper, the HLN - Het Laatste Nieuws, are some Flemish tourists who were sailing in the vicinity of the Cala Portitxol.

It was this past Saturday, when a Belgian family on vacation in Xàbia went out with a boat to sail along the coast, stopping at l'Illa del Portitxol to take a bath. At that moment, a family member is unwell due to the waves and prefers to stay on the boat when she spots an object with a message floating in the sea. She gets it back and that's when she starts this beautiful search story.

It is a request for a hand. The tourist finds a rose containing an engagement ring and a message: Will you marry me?. The rose features a cut piece of string tied to the stem. Apparently, the romantic detail was lost at sea and did not reach its destination.

The tourist assures in the Dutch newspaper that the found item was not damaged, so it must have been lost a short time ago. She now looks for the owner of this ring to return it to him and ends the story with a happy ending.

Give it to the civil guard, they will know what to do, do not trust anyone

I will tell the person who found the ring two things, one is that it is a very beautiful and human gesture, what he has done is to be admired and respected, but the second thing I am saying is that you should not even think of giving it to the first person who say nice things without proving it, with facts such as the purchase receipt or some other proof that can prove it and is irrefutable and my advice is not to get into that mess and do the most intelligent thing because there are many people today who I would do anything to get that ring, they will lie to you and deceive you, there are many lowly people and you should not trust anyone, you have made a very nice gesture, but what I recommend is that you go to the civil guard and give it to them, they will know very well what to do and how to manage it and who to deliver it to

Hello Pep, I had never commented on an article or Facebook post until today, but I am so grateful that I am going to answer…. It has been a "YES" from the bottom of my heart... Well, it was as a sign of diving, hahaha! A story that we will remember all our lives, much more than if my boyfriend's initial plan had gone perfectly. We have brought laughter and smiles to all the family and friends.
    Thank you for your words.

It's mine, one day I gave it to the person I loved and that day it was wrong with me and when I gave her the rose, she threw it into the sea instead of giving it back to me, not knowing that there was a ring inside, as it was night. It was very difficult to enter

Nice way to ask for a hand, but now the true owner of it will have to prove with invoices, that it is his, because if not, anyone could go for it and say that it was his.

  6. Pep says:

We need to know if the answer was yes.
Thank you for such beautiful news.
