The council of Servicios Sociales and Equality of Poble Nou de Benitatxell, in charge of Jacinta Pastor, will promote the creation of a textile cooperative in which women at risk of social exclusion from different groups in the municipality will take part.
The mayor has commented that, "We wanted the project to be of them from the beginning, with this premise organized several meetings with all groups of women and of those encounters flowed common illusion to learn dressmaking techniques to create a textile cooperative. I look forward and I think this project will transcend and become an example to follow in other municipalities in the region".
The first step of this future partnership will be organizing and holding a free training workshops for all women involved. The medium-term plan is that the cooperative to acquire the strength and independence necessary for self-sufficiency and self-financing.
The objective is to train and create a real project for the group of women of the Poble Nou de Benitatxell, at risk of social exclusion, which promotes a new way of working and which in turn strengthens economic, emotional and cultural ties. In this line, and to stimulate cooperative awareness, the Department of Social Services has organized a conference under the theme integrated "Necessitats diverses, diverses cooperatives: Emprenem" The appointment will be on Friday, 19 in February, at 19: 00 hours, in l'espai Abiar.
The first conference, entitled "Amazon, a global challenge"It will be given by Ignacio Oliete, program coordinator conservation Victoria Foundation Amazon Manaus. Pastor Jacinta explained that "I would like to give a different perspective of job opportunities that could occur in the municipality.
