Franco Antonio Rojo and Thomas were honored at the gala of the Association of Restaurateurs of Xàbia

The Association of Restaurateurs of Xàbia (ARX) held last night the tenth edition of its annual gala, the meeting brings together professionals from the local hostelry to take stock and make public recognition of the dedication and skill of proper names in the sector.

The gala, presented by Filo Giner, began with the recognition "Fogones de Xàbia" to the restaurant's Club de Golf cook, Antonio Rojo, "a dedicated body and soul to the exciting profession that is cooking, wasting love and passion".

Restaurateurs also wanted to publicly acknowledge the support of the newspaper the Provinces for their collaboration in activities such as Xàbia to Plat Mariner and congratulate the National Parador de Jávea, which this year celebrates the anniversary of its opening 50. For the ARX Parador "It has always been a meeting point, has had the doors open to all institutions and make us all feel at home".

Finally, the cook Tomas Franco was honored for his career. Franco came to Xàbia 30 years ago to open a restaurant, Los Remos-La Nao, fell in love with the town and with their commitment and dedication has come to present several restaurants and being "a benchmark for its promotion of gastronomy and promote Xàbia".

The evening continued with the speech of the president of ARX, José Manuel Piña, who noted that the association already has spent a decade working for the local cuisine and positioning it as one of the main attractions of the town. After the mayor, José Chulvi, thanked this work and recognized its importance at the tourist level, while offering all its support so that the Town hall and the association continue to collaborate.

Xàbia to Plat Primavera

At the gala he will be used to present the next gastronomic events in Plat Xàbia Primavera, which will take place from Friday to Sunday 6 15 March.

This gastronomic tour through the various associated restaurants extends its suggestive menus suitable for different types of pockets (from 20 to 50 euros). This year the restaurants Calima, Castelló, L'Almassera, Bon Amb, Club de Golf, Embruix, Es Tapa Ti, participate. Parador de Jávea, The Oars La Nao, La Renda, Sur-la granadella and Trencall.
