The lack of rain coupled with the high occupation that is expected during the summer months has caused the municipal water company of Jávea, Amjasa, has reinforced its forecasts to face the complicated situation in the best guarantees.
In the general meeting held this week, the manager, Josep Lluis Henarejos, reported on the actions that are being carried out to guarantee supply in these months when the population of the municipality triples. Henarejos explained that immediate actions have been carried out such as sectorization and regulation of pressure by zones, a measure that has managed to reduce consumption by up to 40% in the test zones (Thiviers, port, first mountain and Arenal).
The manager informed of the steps taken to increase the supply of funds, in anticipation of the bad situation of the wells owned by the company. In total, as recorded by the balance of 2015, Amjasa has spent almost 900.000 euros more than the previous year buy water from the desalination plant and the community of irrigators in Pedreguer. This concept reverses the 47% of the annual budget of the company, which is ready to face the summer with tranquility despite the persistent lack of rain. In this sense, management explained that currently, in addition to entire municipality, is supplying the area Miralbons in Gata de Gorgos, following the principle of solidarity.
