Amjasa donates material of individual protection to the volunteers of Civil Protection Xàbia

The municipal water company, Amjasa, has donated to the Xàbia Civil Protection volunteers, individual protection material, 10 helmets with flashlights, 20 fireproof coveralls and 10 refractive vests. The delivery has been made at the offices of the water company and has involved a contribution of 5000 euros.

The president of the board of directors and mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, said that they were clear about providing Civil Protection with the best possible resources and facilitating training, since they are aware that volunteers have to do their work in the best conditions.

Also, the mayor took the opportunity to announce that the council has already approved the incorporation of a new rapid intervention vehicle for emergencies and fires and recalled that the bases of the construction of a helisurface in a municipal plot of Pou de Moro.

Chulvi highlighted the willingness of the 51 Volunteers of Civil Protection Xàbia, "that in any emergency they are always available, as well as in the collaborations they make in all kinds of sports events and festive events."

The person in charge of Civil Protection, José Vicente Serra, Miero, thanked the donations of Amjasa, since it is the third time he collaborates with Civil Protection. Now, with this contribution, they can already withdraw part of the equipment that was in poor condition and provide each volunteer with their corresponding PPE for the safety of the people, "It's an investment that I wish we never had to use it"remarked Miero.

For her part, the councilor for security, Pepa Gisbert, pointed out that the City Council has acquired 12 portable water cannons for prevention and first actions, "In addition, it has acted on the closure of the La Granadella Watchtower and another action, at the Civil Protection headquarters with a security system with digital cards so that volunteers can access in case of emergency."
