El Javea Town Hall continues to focus its efforts on reducing the risk of forest fires and on being the best prepared to face any emergency related to fire. This week, the governing board authorized the purchase by 21.895 euros of a battery of 12 portable defense systems Sideinfo, a kind of sprinklers that are mounted quickly in an area that will be grass of the flames to reduce the impact of fire and to be able to act at a distance, without physical presence of the personnel of extinction.
The system is supplied with water from swimming pools or rafts, making it the most complex point of forest fires especially suitable for urban forest interface areas. The first mayor added that, as experts advise, "Xàbia extinguishes fires in winter", that is, in times of low risk "Do not let your guard down and focus your efforts on preparedness and prevention" and has taken the opportunity to highlight the great work that Councilor Pepa Gisbert is doing and the indispensable role of collaboration with the public media provided by volunteer bodies such as the Xàbia Civil Protection.
