There is no better way to learn than to put theory and knowledge into practice. And so have the first grade students of the Port de Xàbia School, in an activity that is part of an Integrated Didactic Unit of Social Sciences. The classroom syllabus together with what was learned in the Road Education classes have made the boys and girls feel like police officers for a few hours and have given drivers and pedestrians a lesson in traffic.
The 24 students who make up the first course, accompanied by a Local Police and teachers of the school, have detected the violations of the street made by citizens or rewarding those who complied correctly with the regulations of circulation.
Schoolchildren have recognized badly parked vehicles, either in an area that is not allowed or in a double row, the pedestrian crossing through the zebra crossing or the good parking of the places allowed for people with disabilities. As a lesson, the students left in the vehicle or gave the pedestrian a note of awareness.
They have also had the opportunity to meet the offender and explain what the breach was. Also, good drivers who have respected the signs and the pedestrians, have congratulated them for good behavior.
Undoubtedly, a practical class that has raised awareness and give a lesson, not only to children, but to adults.
