Xàbia students participate in the Air Fair building drones with a social purpose

Technology, creativity and society are the three pillars on which rests the Air show, An educational project aimed at young people between 12 to 18 years and learn to build drones with a social purpose and will climax next April 15.

promoted by Kaleidoscope, Miguel Hernández University Elche and more than 30 towns of Alicante, Murcia, Valencia and Castellon, 50 schools, mostly public, and more than 2.500 high school students and Bachelor involved.

The project began last November with a series of classroom training modules for teachers in charge 100 near to guide students in the development of projects.

After selecting the application they go on to design the drone: the distribution of its components, aesthetics, protections and the landing gear. Once designed, the most anticipated phase begins for the students, assembly and assembly of components, their programming and their calibration. Once the drone is built, the first flight practices begin. The last phase of the project consists in a public presentation of the work carried out in an event that welcomes all the participating centers.

This event is the Air Fair and will take place during the morning of the 15 in April at the Sports Pavilion of the Miguel Hernández University in Elche. Here the students will have an exhibition space where they can share their ideas and visions of the future through posters, stands, oral presentations, videos and flight demonstrations.

The conception, structure and implementation of the Air Fair is the responsibility of the specialist company in science and innovation The Kaleidoscope and has been possible thanks to the collaboration of Lot Amorós and the Flone project, who inspired this project. The MUDIC Foundation has also participated in the development of the training courses.

The municipalities of the Marina Alta region that participate in this second edition of the project are Benissa, Dénia, Gata de Gorgos, Ondara, Pedreguer and Xàbia, which from their respective councils of education have supported the same, thus consolidating their commitment to promote the scientific-technological culture in society.
