5.792 photographs that portray life in Xàbia from the 60 years are incorporated into the Arxiu

January 16 from 2019 - 14: 51

Vicent Ferrer i Ferrer, teacher both in the school Vicente Tena (1991-1997 courses) and Graüll (1997-2007 courses), has donated to the Archive of Xàbia a total of 5.792 high-quality digital photographs, the result of his love for photography and his professional stage as a photographer.

From the 60 years to the present, these photographs help shape a new documentary collection: the Vicent Ferrer collection. Inside the lot there is a folder with photographs of the day of the 1992 bicycle made by Antonio Catalá Soler (Pomera) with which the file will open another background.

Vicent Ferrer has made this donation to contribute to a better conservation over time and good dissemination of what is an important part of the graphic history of the municipality. Not in vain, the donated photographs cover diverse topics such as parties, sports, natural catastrophes, buildings, nature, education, music band, school visits or exhibitions.

Your collection is now available in the municipal archdiocese building and can be consulted by all present and future citizens. In addition, this municipal service is already working to give the greatest dissemination of its documentary heritage through web access.
