The new data provided by the Ministry of Health on the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic by locality shows a significant decrease in infections in the Marina Alta region, and in turn, a slight decrease in Xàbia, although the figures are still very high .
The Dénia Health Department, which encompasses the entire region, has added 411 new infections since last Tuesday's update in which 807 were registered (according to the Health system, although 822 were accounted for by municipalities), so the total of new cases has dropped by half in these three days.
However, the notable increase in deaths is to be regretted, since since the last update there have been 10, people from the Marina Alta who have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
With the new data report, the Marina Alta Health Department accumulates a total of 6.357 positives since the pandemic began, of which 1790 are active and accounts for 92 deaths. Likewise, the incidence of the virus is 1.042,27 cases per 100.000 inhabitants.
Situation of COVID-19 by municipalities
In Xàbia, the evolution of the coronavirus has been seen to decrease, although slightly, in this latest update since the town has added 87 new positives in three days compared to 105 last Tuesday. Another sad fact is that a new death is registered in this population.
At the moment, Xàbia accumulates 974 positive cases since March, with 288 being active. In deaths, the town accumulates a total of 6 deaths. As for the accumulated incidence in 14 days, it is 1.043,33 cases per 100.000 inhabitants.
In the rest of the towns of the Marina Alta, Dénia is the municipality that adds the most new positives with 119 and registers two new deaths, Calp 34 positive and 3 deaths, Benissa 19 positive and 2 deaths, Pego 39 infections and 1 death, Orba 17 contagions and 1 death, Teulada added 16 positives, Pedreguer 15, Gata de Gorgos 13, Ondara 13, El Verger 11, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell 5, Beniarbeig 5, Parcent 3, Vall de Laguar 2, Xaló 1 and Murla 1.
