On the afternoon of this Friday, 10 in August, Xàbia has suffered three fires, in three different areas of the municipality. Thanks to the rapid intervention of Firefighters of the Provincial Consortium, Civil Protection, forestry brigades and volunteers from Balcony to the sea, the fire could be controlled in a short time.
The first of these occurred on the road to Jesús Pobre, in the area of Benimadrocs, where it has remained in conatus and the flames have not gone away.
The second one that was produced was in the Cansalades crossing and the third in the Puchol area, near where just two days ago there was already a fire. In the latter, four houses have been preventedly evicted and it has been necessary to mobilize two air means due to the proximity of a pine forest and the Montgó Natural Park. Finally 200 square meters have burned. After 21 pm, the Puchol fire was considered extinct.
In the operator have also participated Local Police, Civil Guard and Red Cross.
In the region of the Marina Alta, the 3 alert continues due to the high risk of fires, so the Local Police will maintain surveillance throughout the municipality and request maximum precaution and citizen collaboration.
