The Ministry of Education, Research, Culture and Sport, through the General Directorate of Linguistic Policy, has resolved to grant financial aid to municipalities, municipalities and minor local entities Valencian and El Carche, for the promotion of Valencian use .
In total 1.114.673,29 euros have been allocated in 228 organisms being one of them Xàbia, population to which they correspond 9.679 euros. These grants have increased by an 11,4% compared to 2016 and the beneficiaries have also increased by an 17% compared to the previous call.
What can they be used for?
Xàbia is one of the 50 towns of Alicante benefiting from this grant. The eligible programs to which these bodies may be accommodated are labeling and marking; courses of Valencian destined to public employees of the local Administration, specific groups and adult population; campaigns and actions of linguistic volunteering; campaigns and language reception actions for newcomers; cultural activities, actions, activities and municipal campaigns to sensitize and promote the use of Valencian, and creation and operation of offices or services of promotion of Valencian.
Grants also receive the programs of use of the Valencian in the social networks of the entity. In addition, the promotion offices of the Valencian may be owned by municipalities or joint between different local entities in order to serve more population centers.
