Xàbia has adhered to the call made by the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and has held a minute of silence in rejection of the sexist murder of a 40-year-old woman in Villajoyosa. The concentration of condemnation of the murder has taken place at the gates of the Town hall, at 12 noon, to which dozens of neighbors have attended. The Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, has read a manifesto in which he has expressed the rejection of gender violence.
Zouita was cut her throat, at her home, last Monday at the hands of her husband, who later took his own life. The young woman was 40 years old and had 3 children of 14, 10 and 3 years old. The Generalitat Valenciana has protected minors.
