14 March 2020 - 15: 20

El Javea Town Hall has taken new actions aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the municipality at the coordination meeting held this morning.

Mayor, José Chulvi, and the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Pepa GisbertThey have had the heads of the security forces such as the Local Police and the Civil Guard, the voluntary bodies Civil Protection, the Red Cross and the advice of the coordinator of the municipality's health centers, María José Mulet.

Pending the measures that the State of Alarm decree will be published this afternoon, the City Council has agreed:

  • Close the Pinosol park; seal all children's play areas or outdoor sports
  • Clean with high pressure disinfectant products points of high attendance
  • Suspend the street market on Thursdays
  • Strengthen all the information mechanisms to urge people to stay at home and minimize social contacts.

Basic instructions

The City Council reiterates that the basic instruction is simple: stay home. Only going out to carry out basic needs and suspend friends' meetings etc ... And above all, be aware that, as the health workers have explained, the virus can be active for up to 9 hours, so it is very important to wash your hands thoroughly. with soap or disinfectant products when touching urban furniture, areas or elements - such as door knobs - that are for collective use.

The Local Police, as it has been doing since early in the morning at points such as Paseo del Arenal, is transmitting these instructions over the public address system and requesting citizen responsibility, especially to people who have arrived from other autonomous communities: that they are in the inside their houses and do not contribute to the spread of this epidemic.

Both the Police and the Civil Guard are reviewing that bars, restaurants and leisure centers have complied with the regional order to close until prior notice.

Services

As already reported yesterday, the municipal offices will stop attending in person from this Monday. The same will be done by the municipal water company, Amjasa, and the eco-park and Ramblars will be temporarily closed.

The company in charge of garbage collection and street cleaning has also been instructed to do minimal services so as not to compromise the entire workforce in the event of any contagion. Likewise, the Jávea cleaning service takes measures and from today they will go out to clean with gloves, gloves and their own bottle of disinfectant.

Also report that the Red Cross has made itself available to the health center to bring medicines or basic necessities to people who, in the context of this epidemic, have to be isolated and lack a support or family network.
