Xàbia launches 'En Moviment', the new health program for the elderly

15 March 2024 - 13: 36

The Department of Sports and the Xàbia Health Center have held a coordination meeting on the operation of the 'En Moviment' program, a project that promotes exercise and physical activity, as essential elements for maintaining and improving health and disease prevention.

The coordinator of the Health Center, María José Mulet, the Nursing coordinator, Begoña Moral, the Councilor for Sports, Toni Molina, and the coordinator of the department, Francisco Bisquert, participated in the meeting.

As the councilor explained, in total there are already thirty people who have joined this project, which has allowed two groups to be formed, which "will begin classes shortly." "All of them have been referred by the Health Center, which is the one who recommends exercise to patients based on their pathologies," commented the mayor.

The program is aimed at sick people in order to reduce the risk of suffering from cardiovascular pathologies, high blood pressure, cancer or diabetes, among others, such as helping to control overweight, obesity and the percentage of body fat, increasing bone density and strengthening the muscular system, increases physical fitness and improves the ability to exert effort without fatigue.

In addition, regular physical exercise improves mood and reduces the risk of suffering from stress, anxiety and depression, thus increasing self-esteem and emotional well-being. But it also encourages sociability, and contributes to increasing personal autonomy and social integration, with all the benefits that derive from it.

The program is aimed at people of legal age, citizens residing and/or registered in the municipalities, and with Primary Care assignment. Furthermore, it is aimed primarily at risk population groups and pathologies; and inactive people.

It has a minimum stay of six to nine months, participation is completely free and is taught at the Miguel Buigues Andrés Sports Pavilion.

It is more than necessary that those who have given us all life are more than cared for. They have to follow special vigilance. And we have to fight for them. We owe everything we have to them. You have to make a ministry just for them. Just for your needs. With people involved 24 hours a day in them. I only know that less than that is not owed to ours. It is only because of them that we are here breathing today.

All of these initiatives seem perfect to me. But then, for example, this morning I called urgentencoas in Javea since my father couldn't get up on his own. I tried and couldn't.
After calling the medical center we spoke with a doctor who literally told my father that you are lying because you are talking to me and I noticed that he is walking. The luck that that doctor had is that my father hung up the call…
In the end I had to call European friends to come so I could take my father down and take him properly to the hospital.
That's why I find this type of news funny because when they have to respond or give us the service they say that you have to go to the medical center on your own, it seems shameful to me that they boast that they take care of the elderly and it's all a lie.
My mother also went to the health center almost 2 years ago and the same doctor told her that she had gas. Then it turned out that she had a 10kg tumor in her ovaries (metastasis). So less publicity and do the favor of helping whoever had it. need. That you are playing with people's lives.
And if anyone wants something, in the head of the comment is my name, which I don't hide.
