El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, has requested, in a meeting, the Governing Board of the Natural Park Montgó greater common effort to drive conversion of the Cape San Antonio lighthouse in the Interpretation Center of the Marine Reserve.
Chulvi said that this project, "that was born of the popular clamor before the possibility that the building was privatized, needs coordination and all the efforts in the search of the necessary means for its opening".
The first mayor xabiero has indicated that the lighthouse is the ideal place to give all the information about the marine reserve "and by extension of the wealth of the protected area of Montgó, which now has its only offices outside the natural park". Chulvi added that there is the moral support of the junta "But we need more, close collaboration and coordinate efforts to start taking shape.".
Large-scale project
The mayor of Xàbia has recognized that it is a large project that "it escapes the possibilities of a Town hall like Xàbia or even those of the Generalitat if they each go separately, so we ask for union and work to seek help, for example, from European funds".
